VELS Symposium – LEAD 2025

The VELS Symposium – LEAD 2025, hosted at Vels Global School, Howrah, was a dynamic professional development forum organized under the guidance of the Curriculum, Research and Development Department of the Vels Group of Schools. The event brought together educators from various campuses to share innovative ideas, strengthen classroom practices, and align teaching-learning methodologies with CBSE frameworks.

The symposium aimed to promote collaboration and reflection among educators, encouraging them to explore effective teaching approaches, curriculum mapping, and resource utilization. The discussions also covered assessment strategies, project-based learning, question paper design, and board exam preparation.

Highlights of the Day

The day began with an inaugural address by Dr. Meenakshi Ramesh, Director – Curriculum, Research & Development, who emphasized innovation, collaboration, and the importance of continuous teacher growth.

Early Years (KG–II)

Sessions for the Early Years segment were led by Ms. Sumathi (VGS KKL) and focused on Circle Time, Storytelling, and Culmination Activities designed to make learning joyful and interactive.

Subject Enrichment (III–XII)

Subject experts from different campuses facilitated engaging sessions on curriculum mapping, assessment techniques, and CBSE-aligned question paper design, helping educators enhance academic rigor and consistency.

Afternoon Sessions

The afternoon featured practical workshops such as Scaffolding & Cost-efficient TLMs led by Ms. Srividhya, Assessment Strategies for Grades VI–X, and Use of Past Papers for senior classes (Grades XI–XII). Each session offered teachers valuable classroom strategies to improve learning outcomes.

Plenary Session

A key highlight of the symposium was the plenary session titled “The 3 C’s – Communicate, Connect, Cultivate”, delivered by Dr. Meenakshi Ramesh. The session inspired teachers to integrate empathy, communication, and technology to create a balanced, meaningful, and modern classroom environment.

Valedictory & Feedback

The event concluded with a reflective valedictory session led by Ms. Srividhya Sampath, who summarized the day’s key takeaways and encouraged educators to continue their journey of innovation and collaboration.
